A police pursuit through Geraldton yesterday resulted in five charges against a 28-year-old Dongara man.

Police say the driver of a Holden Commodore refused to stop on Chapman Road about 5pm.

He eventually pulled over on First Street, Wonthella.

Two passengers were released uncharged.

The driver was taken to Geraldton Police Station where it was ascertained he had consumed alcohol.

It will be alleged a search of the driver found he was in possession of about five grams of cannabis.

He was charged with failing to stop, exceeding 0.05, reckless driving, refusing to provide personal details and possessing a prohibited drug.
