Four men have been taken to hospital after two cars collided head-on on Brand Highway, South Greenough, this morning.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said two men aged in their 60s, one in his 50s and one in his 20s were taken to Geraldton Hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries.

She said two ambulances were called to the scene, just south of the S-bend, about 6.30am.

Sgt Keith Burrows of Mid West Gascoyne Traffic said the accident happened when a Toyota HiLux travelling south tried to overtake a road train and collided with a Nissan Patrol stationwagon travelling north.

He said it was raining at the time and spray from the road train had impeded visibility.

Sgt Burrows said police were still investigating and charges could be pending.

Meanwhile, a road train rolled over on North West Coastal Highway in Geraldton about 9.30am today.

Police said it appeared the driver was turning left from Geraldton-Mt Magnet Road, into the southbound lane, when a trailer flipped over.

The southbound lane was closed to traffic for more than six hours.
