Man charged over Morawa drug raid

Police have charged a man over the alleged seizure of drugs, cash and ammunition in a raid on a Morawa house this week.

Sergeant Jason Gough of Morawa police said cannabis plants, leaf and seeds were seized, as well as methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, cash and unlicensed ammunition.

Police executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant on the house on Wednesday at 3.30pm, following a tip-off through Crime Stoppers.

A 50-year-old Morawa man has been charged with cultivating a prohibited plant, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, possession of unlicensed ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has been summonsed to appear before court at a later date.

Sgt Gough said investigations were ongoing and further charges may be laid.
