Perth man wins $30,000 car in Geraldton raffle
A Perth man won a $30,000 Toyota RAV4 at a cocktail night fundraiser for the St Francis Xavier Cathedral Precinct Project on Saturday night.
Phil Martinz won the grand prize in a raffle, which raised $90,000 for the precinct project.
The car was donated by Geraldton Toyota.
Community donations and fundraising activities have raised about $2.4 million for the project, which includes re-roofing the cathedral, construction of a café and a Monsignor Hawes Heritage Centre in the grounds of the cathedral on Cathedral Avenue.
The heritage centre, which will house artefacts of celebrated priest and architect Monsignor John Hawes,is expected to be completed by March 2016.
