Woolworths supermarkets are recalling their Homebrand beef over fears it may contain plastic.

The recall is of the company’s 500g beef mince regular sold in WA stores from September 21, with a best before date of September 29, 2014.

The product may contain soft, blue, food-grade plastic fragments which may pose a risk if consumed.

Woolworths is urging consumers to return the product to their nearest supermarket for a full refund.

Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

Customers can call the toll-free customer service number for more information on 1800 103 515.
