A woman who allegedly drove a stolen BMW for an hour and a half at the request of its occupants has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle.

Police say the woman observed the car, which had been stolen from a Waggrakine property between May 26 and 27, in Rangeway on Saturday.

She allegedly told police it was in the possession of a group of people she did not know - and one of the occupants asked her to drive the car to the shops and around Rangeway.

Police will allege the 39-year-old woman was aware the car was stolen.

She will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on August 13.
