Students hit right note at music fest
The Geraldton Music Festival was held over three days last week, with students from all schools participating in the annual event.
Schoolchildren participated with singing, poetry, bands and instrumental ensembles.
Organiser Mary Webb was delighted with the number of students in attendance.
“We had over 300 certificates for the high commended, first and second-place combined,” she said.
“The adjudicator who came from Perth, Julia Toussaint, was impressed with the high standard and said the poetry was a highlight.
“We ended up with 40 students in the concert — all placegetters. It was a busy three days but a good three days.”
