Newspapers around the world have reacted to the ugly scenes that marred Joe Biden’s certification as the next US president yesterday — as pro-Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol.

Angry protestors made their way through the barricades and last line of police as the Senate came together to officially confirm electoral college votes in favour of his successor.

The disturbing scenes led at least four deaths — including the fatal shooting of army veteran and Trump supporting Ashli Babbitt.

CNN paid tribute to a host of outlets who ran the chaotic scenes on the front pages of newspapers in every corner of the globe.

Leading their gallery of coverage on Instagram the US network led with The West Australian’s very own front page.

Among the others included coverage from Canada, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, France and Brazil.

In the latter the Folha De S.Paulo wrote, “inflated by Trump, crowd invades and vandalises Congress”, while France’s daily afternoon newspaper Le Monde, headlined it’s coverage, “Trump provokes chaos in Washington as Biden is reinforced by a majority in the senate.”

In Canada the Ottawa Sun’s front page was simply headlined “Anarchy” while UK broadsheet The Guardian wrote: “Chaos as pro-Trump mob storms US Capitol.”

It wasn’t just western countries that led their dailies with the wild scenes in Washington DC though, with both Saudi Arabia’s Arab News, and Nigeria’s Tribune also dedicating their front pages to the Congress chaos.
