With just over a week until Australia goes to the polls, The West has given an insight into the minds of voters and what they really think to our politicians.

The West Australian’s Pollie Rater is back once again, giving readers a chance to give their scores to Australia’s pollies from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton to the Trumpet of Patriots’ Clive Palmer.

The hugely popular tool lets readers rate each politician out of 10, leading to an average rating which can then be compared with The West Australian’s expert assessment.

And the first scores are already on the board.

The first Pollie Rater results show readers prefer Mr Dutton to Mr Albanese, rating the Opposition Leader 5.5/10 while the Prime Minister’s is tracking behind with a score of just 4.6/10.

Greens Leader Adam Bandt is proving as unpopular with voters as he is with The West’s experts, with a lowly score of only 2.3/10.

But there’s still plenty of time for those scores to change before election day on May 3. To have your say on the Pollie Rater, click here.
