Sam Kerr has announced her fiancée, Kristie Mewis, is pregnant.

The 31-year-old Matildas star took to Instagram to announce that the sporting power couple is expecting their first child next year.

“Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!” the post read, alongside four images of the couple kissing and posing with ultrasound scans.

Fellow soccer stars and friends took to the comments section to congratulate the excited couple.

Mary Fowler said: “Congrats.”

Lydia Williams said: “Congrats to you both! So exciting!”

The Matildas Instagram account also shared a “Congrats” comment.

The baby announcement comes after Kerr proposed to Mewis on September 1 last year.

The pair met in 2019 while playing soccer and first connected online during a COVID-19 quarantine in 2020.

They sparked dating rumours in 2021 after being seen hugging on the field after Australia lost to the US at the Tokyo Olympics.

Kerr confirmed the rumours with an Instagram post of a Polaroid of herself and Mewis kissing.

Kerr is a striker for Women’s Super League club Chelsea and the Australian women’s national team, which she has captained since 2019.
