Police hunt hamburglar

Police are searching for a hungry offender who allegedly smashed a car windscreen to steal a $3 cheeseburger at the weekend.

Police say a man bought the hamburger on Saturday night and then drove to the hotel district, parking his car at the Geraldton KFC about 10.30pm, leaving the burger on the dash board.

He then entered a nearby licensed premises and returned to his car about midnight to find a fist-sized hole in the windscreen and a missing burger.

Police attended the scene and spoke to the victim and investigations are ongoing.

Acting Sergeant Marc Cuthbertson said the victim was “dismayed” to find his midnight snack missing and asked anyone with information relating the the incident to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
