61yo cyclist hit by car
A 61-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital suffering minor injuries after being hit by a car in Geraldton this morning.
The driver of the Toyota sedan was an 87-year-old woman who was not injured.
The crash occurred in Francis Street about 9am and emergency services were called the scene.
Police said the elderly female driver accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, mounted the kerb and collided with the cyclist who was riding along the footpath.
A bus seat and the front fence of the Harbour Pines Retirement Village were also damaged.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
