A 31-year-old Deepdale man has been charged with firearms offences.

Police attended a residence in Deepdale in relation to another matter on Wednesday at 9am.

It is alleged an unlicensed .22 calibre air rifle was located at the premises and was not securely stored in a gun safe.

The 31-year-old man has been charged with failing to ensure the safe keeping of a firearm and possessing an unlicensed firearm.

He will appear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
