Man found guilty over 'drug debt' stabbing
A District Court jury has found a 36-year-old Geraldton man guilty of grievous bodily harm over a stabbing incident last year.
Jeremy David Black has been remanded in custody to be sentenced on January 22.
The court heard Black stabbed a 32-year-old man six times, causing serious injury, as he attempted to recover a drug debt.
The victim had to be flown to Royal Perth Hospital for surgery.
According to the Department of Public Prosecutions, the man “almost died” and would have had it not been for an ambulance officer who drove past the area by pure coincidence.
The incident happened in Johnston Street, Geraldton, on December 22 last year.
