Our Estuaries - A Bird Haven exhibit: Geraldton Regional Library hosts event celebrating local photographers

Geraldton Regional Library hosted an event last Thursday to celebrate an exhibition of local photographers’ work, showcasing bird life across the Chapman Valley and Geraldton estuaries. The Drink with the Photographers event saw local photographers and invited guests from Birdlife, Chapman River Friends and the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council come together to celebrate the amazing talent featured in the Our Estuaries — A Bird Haven exhibit and have important discussions surrounding conservation and biodiversity of wetlands. Guests were treated to drinks and nibbles and a presentation from NACC NRM senior coastal and marine project officer Mic Payne who spoke about his work in conservation of threatened saltmarsh communities along the Chapman Valley and Geraldton estuaries. Work from local photographers on display included Tanya Causer, Steve Pidgeon, Heather Beswick and Bill Belson. The exhibition is open until March 5 at Geraldton Regional Library and is free for all ages.
