Glenn Shorrock will play to the crowds at the Wintersun Hotel tonight.

It is Shorrock’s first performance at the venue, after touring extensively both nationally and internationally over the past four decades.

“I have been to Geraldton a few times and I’m looking forward to coming back, it’s been quite a number of years, I love driving through the country so it will be great to come back,” he said.

Performing in several bands, including The Twilights and Axiom, it was in the role as front-man for Little River Band where he had his taste of overseas success.

“Little River Band was an organised band to attack the international market and we had a plan — nowadays, I’m just coasting along with my own music I have written,” he said.

Shorrock has been working on a new album while living in Sydney.

“It’s not different but the goals are different, we’re not trying to race up the charts, it’s about the music,” he said.

“I have just been with Jimmy Barnes at a rock concert. I’m glad to be trailing in his shadow after Cold Chisel’s visit to town last week.

“Jimmy and I go way back, he comes from the same town in South Australia.”

Shorrock will perform with a full band.
