Mid-West Show ’n’ Shine revs into a milestone as it hits its 10th year anniversary.

The not-for-profit event brings car enthusiasts from around the region to Geraldton for one day of everything motoring.

Committee member Michelle McLean said the show had donated a large amount to the community over the years and she wanted to see that continue.

“The ethos of the committee is to promote all car enthusiasts with particular support to car clubs — the main reason the group started was to

keep it off the streets, giving all somewhere to show their vehicles.

“We encourage bike owners as well to bring their pride-and-joys to the event.

“It is great to see Geraldton Speedway also normally enters some of their cars — we are backed by the police with their ‘beat the heat’ cars every show. We want to encourage local businesses to have a stall on the day.”

Ms McLean said the event was always a hit with the crowd as the girls vied for votes to become Miss Show ’n’Shine, and there were a number of entrants this year and the girls had put in a lot of work.

“The committee puts a considerable amount of their own time into this event and we are very proud of what we have achieved for the community

of Geraldton.

“Also a special thanks always to the sponsors of the event the businesses of Geraldton.”

The Mid-West Show ’n’ Shine girls held a charity car wash over the weekend, with the proceeds going towards Geraldton Dog Rescue.

Catch all the motoring action this Sunday at Maitland Park from 10am to 4pm. Free entry.
